University Transportation Services
UR Shuttle System
The University runs several shuttles between University campuses and to popular entertainment and retail areas in the Rochester community. These buses are free for students, employees, and dependents with a University ID. Please check online for up-to-date schedules and route information. Schedules are published each academic year and can be found at various locations around campus. Shuttle services are available during the summer as well, but on reduced schedules and routes.
The International Services Office and Simon Business School are sponsoring a 2014 Summer Shopping Shuttle. Click here for the schedule.
You must have a current parking permit to park in a University lot. Permits are valid for specific zones Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, and for all unreserved spaces after 4:00 pm and on weekends. A one-day visitor pass is available for occasional use. Please visit University Parking for information on policies and obtaining a UR parking pass; rates and lots vary depending on whether you are a student or employee.
Zipcar Car-Sharing Program
University of Rochester participates in Zipcar, a national program designed to share vehicles for occasional use in areas with dense population or limited parking space. Members of the University community may apply online to join. With an annual member fee and a small rental fee, you can then make a reservation to use one of the cars for a few hours or the whole day (gas & insurance are included). Your membership card will even unlock the car at your reserved time! Enrollment standards must be met to join.
