Permanent Residence

Eligibility for Permanent Residence is strictly enforced by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). It is important to plan ahead, as the application process can be very time consuming and expensive. Specific details can be found under our Pathways and Policies page. It is strongly recommended that you work with an immigration attorney throughout the application process and to discuss other concerns or questions you may have.

Travel Permissions & Required Documentation

Your ability to travel as a Permanent Resident is based on the status of your petition at the time you plan to travel. Ultimately, the Green Card is issued to document valid Permanent Residence status and can be used for travel. In some cases, it may be possible to apply for additional travel permissions while the residency application is pending. It is essential to discuss ALL travel plans with your attorney prior to leaving the U.S.
